The Beginning

After a long and hard 1:10 Electric-Buggy season 2010, I felt burned-out from racing, glueing tires, wrenching the cars, cleaning the cars, long trips to the races, cheap hotels, bad weather and my mostly disappointing race-results this year. I have been driving 1:10 Electric Buggy races for 25 ( in words: twentyfive) years and it seems, my driving skills degrade in the reverse segregation to my material-expenses.  Time to start something totally different! But what? Fishing? Mini-Golf? Or collecting Barbie Dolls? No idea!

At this time, my old buddy Flo made a visit in my office here in Hamburg/Germany. I know Flo since many years and he's a student. He's studying social-economics. I have no idea, what he's doing there and what kind of job he will catch later with his „Master of social-economics“. But I am glad, that Flo can't give me an aswer. He also really don't know it. It seems a modern thinking 'I don't understand, what I do the whole day, but they give me a lot of money for it'.

Flo told me, he is a bit frustrated about his situation and need some other things to come down after a hard day of being a student. Flo was a born in the 'touring car generation'. He started with touring cars and he never drove any other cars, than a touring car – since the day, where his education at the university began, 2 years ago. Visiting me he had the plan to start Kyosho Mini-Z racing. Small. Cheap. Easy. More runtime on the track, nice. And the potential to tune the car a little … It took me 15 minutes to think about it and to agree to go Mini-Z racing with him. Something complete new and different would fresh-up my motivation ...

So long, Michael
